Measure
m³ unless the load goes over a weighbridge.
Material
Sets the tonnage. Meterage is the same either way.
Cycle

Loads in 9 hrs worked
Truck cost per day
Hourly rate × 9.5 hours paid. Includes a 30 minute break, which is why loads are worked out over 9 hours. Type over it to use a different figure.

The cartage calculation
Cartage rate = Truck cost ÷ Tonne or m³ ÷ Loads
$2,100 ÷ 28 ÷ 6 = $12.50 per tonne
in a truck and trailer, based on a free tip
Loads calculation
9.5 hours paid, less a 30 minute break
= 9 hours worked = 540 minutes
Cycle = (travel one way × 2) + loading + tipping
Loads = 540 ÷ cycle, always round down
Example: 30 min one way, 30 min back, 15 loading, 15 tipping = 90 minutes. 540 ÷ 90 = 6 load day.
Always ask client how much loading time needed.
Driver pay
Charge client = margins + driver pay rate
$12.50 × 0.85 = $10.60 pay driver

Source conflicts
- Tandem day cost: notes say $1,250, table says $1,100 daily contract pay.
- Notes put Truck + Trailer at 24 m³ / 28 T. The table's 28 T is the Tri Axle at 22 m³; its 24 m³ unit is the PBS Tri Axle at 32 T.
- No payloads or pay rates exist yet for watercarts, vacuum trucks or plant.
- Truck & Dog Hybrid concrete tonnage of 26 T is derived, not supplied — it sits midway between Tri Axle (25 T) and PBS Tri Axle (27 T), which bracket it on both meterage and fill tonnage.
